The 19th century in Norway was a time of change and renewal. Having found themselves no longer under Danish control, they were now faced with the question: what does it mean to be Norwegian? What was norsk? Ivar Aasen, a self-taught linguist and the father of Norwegian Nynorsk, authored a poem about the beauty of the Norwegian country, the strength of its people, and the natural pride that they all should never forget. Ivar Aasen's "Nordmannen" represents the good of Norway and the value to be found looking inward. Take the spirit of Norway and Aasen's "Nordmannen" wherever you go with this shirt inspired by the life that exists 'among the hills and mountains out by the sea.'
